Let's say a friend invites me out for a meal. I could choose to order the same food as my friend, or I could order something different and then we can try each other's meal to see what they taste like. It doesn't matter if my friend and I don't share the same taste in cuisine, as long as we're sharing the restaurant experience and enjoying each other's company, that's all that matters.
I like watching people taking their dogs for walks. Sometimes the man or woman would stand still and let the dog sniff or pee to their heart's content before they continue their walk. While man and dog are having different experiences of the world, they are still enjoying being with one another.
Sometimes we like the same things and sometimes we don't. As long as we love each other and enjoy being with one another, that's all that matters.
